With power companies rushing to get power back on there are still thousands across KOTA Territory without power.
Power is being restored in many parts of the Black Hills and crews are continuing to work through the day and night to get as much as they can restored.
According to Black Hills Power there are still 12,000 homes reporting no power, but they did say that most people should have power by the end of this week.
In more remote areas though the time frame could take longer.
Black Hills Power says that the equipment they are using to get to some of the downed power is top of the line and helping significantly in their effort.
"One thing to note is it's brought out the best in our employees," Said Vice President of Operations at Black Hills Power, Vance Crocker. "We've seen our employees and the contractors just doing some extraordinary feats just to get to our customers, in what started off in blizzard conditions and now is in flooding"
More than 200 contractors have been brought in to help with the effort from neighboring states.
