Roads, businesses, and schools aren't the only things shutdown Friday. The government is on day five of its shutdown. U.S. Representative Kristi Noem (R-SD) shares what she thinks about the shutdown.
In a YouTube video, Noem says she was not in favor of the government shutdown. She says she voted to keep the government open while also delaying the mandate that requires individuals to purchase health insurance.
According to Noem, Obamacare is not treating people fairly and it will bankrupt the country. Additionally, Noem says she voted in favor of target funding bills that allow the government to pay for things like national parks, children's cancer research, and take care of veterans. ""These basic functions of government are not controversial. There's no reason we shouldn't fund them immediately."
Noem says she would like to see Obamacare completely de funded, but remains willing to find common ground with Senate democrats.
