Day two of the government shutdown has people disappointed in our elected officials.
Democrats and Republicans were unable to pass the budget, Democrats refusing to talk about changing Obamacare and Republicans refusing to let it go.
KOTA Territory News spoke on and off camera with individuals Wednesday at Jerry's Cakes and Donuts in Rapid City, and found the majority blame the Republicans for the shutdown.
Jim Jeffries says Republicans need to move on. "Republicans need to accept the fact that the Affordable Health Care Act passed and it's law," said Jeffries.
Lawren Erickson says the Tea Party is holding the country ransom. "The Tea Party faction of the Republican party has announced for months that they are going to do this and they have no fear," said Erickson. "They don't think it's serious, so they went ahead and did it."
David Howland says both parties are partially to blame, and one party needs to give in. "Whichever party that is needs to realize 'I'm elected for the people, by the people, not so I can have a job in two years,'" said Howland.
KOTA Territory News asked Facebook followers who was to blame with answers including Republicans, the Tea Party, Democrats, President Obama, and even voters for electing officials that would do this.
