Four National Guard members come home

The Rapid City National Guard welcomed home four of its own Tuesday. The ceremony held at Camp Rapid featured a special appearance by Governor Daugaard. He personally welcomed home the members of the 1978th Contingency Contracting Team.

The team members Major Matt Symonds, Captain Paula Moore and Staff Sergeants Amanda Galdo and Jack Hahne were deployed in Afghanistan for nine months. The team provided contracts for food services, construction projects and transportation. The team also helped construct a school and agricultural center for Afghan citizens.

Galdo had this to say about returning home "its exciting to have our team back home again, back in South Dakota, back with our friends and family".

And Hahne says he is looking forward to a trip to Puerto Rico with his brother.

The team will resume their careers with the National Guard.
