Tourist attractions report big numbers for August

Tourist attractions in KOTA Territory report an increase in visitors for the month of August compared to last summer.

Mount Rushmore counted close to 635 thousand visitors, and that is up four percent from last august.  But overall, last summer's tally was bigger.

At crazy horse visitation was up six percent this August from last August. Last year it was a record breaking year at Custer State Park, and park spokesmen say they are on the same track this year. Entrance vehicle sales were up 15 percent from last August.

Park spokesmen credit the Sturgis Rally for the high numbers in August.
