The Rapid City Regional Airport sees another outstanding travel season this summer. Even breaking a travel record.
Travelers from all over the country came to see what the Black Hills had to offer. The Sturgis motorcycle rally was a big part of the summer travel boom.
The airport even broke a travel record one day this summer thanks to the rally. Cameron Humphres Executive Director for the airport said that the official numbers aren't in but from what he saw the airport will at least break even with last year's summer travel numbers.
"Although we don't have the official numbers yet of how many passengers we hosted all indicators that we had a strong summer, very strong travel season" Humphres said.
The official numbers are expected to be released soon.
