Rapid City woman pleads not guilty to child abuse

A Rapid City woman pleads not guilty to abusing her child.  Prosecutors say Faith Schaeffer, 31, abused a 9-year-old child back in August.  Friday morning, she was arraigned in Seventh Circuit Court in front of Judge Robert Mandel. She pled not guilty to the charge.

Also in court Friday morning, Waylen Block of Rapid City plead guilty to possessing child pornography.  The 41-year-old admitted to downloading two images of children as young as 3 year-old engaging in sex acts.

In exchange for Block's guilty plea, the state dropped the remaining pornography charges.  He faces a 20 year prison sentence and a $40,000 fine when he is sentenced in November.
