The dean of the University Center in Rapid City was fired after being convicted of an out-of-state felony.
South Dakota Board of Regents Executive Director Jack Warner says Craig Johnson was convicted August 5th in Bisbee, Arizona, for making unauthorized use of organization funds while serving as treasurer of the National Association of Branch Campus Administrators.
Johnson was accused in May 2012 of stealing $16,000, most of which has been repaid.
He was sentenced to three years of probation.
Warner says Black Hills State University learned of the matter August 7th from a court officer.
