The Moorcroft School District breaks ground on new school

The Moorcroft School District is one step closer to starting construction on a new school.

Teachers, students and school administrators gathered Thursday for a ground breaking on the site of the new Moorcroft Elementary.

The new school will be able to hold 425 students ranging in grade from kindergarten to 8th grade.

The estimated price of the school is $18 million.

"It's going to be an energy efficient school with a  lot of day light," said lead architect, Dale Buckingham. "As I mentioned before a lot of areas other than traditional classroom space, which can also be used for teaching purposes. We are very excited to be a part of it."

Construction on the project will begin Monday and is scheduled to take up to 20 months.
