Oglala Sioux Tribal Attorney General Tatewin Means confirms that two tribal members have filed an injunction to stop the referendum that would approve alcohol.
Means says a hearing is scheduled for September 20th, regarding the issue.
KOTA-TV has tried to get a copy of the filing but is still waiting to hear back from Means.
She says the two tribal members filed the injunction against the Oglala Sioux Tribal Council and the Oglala Sioux Tribal Election Committee.
The Tribal Council has not taken any action since the time of the vote.
The sale and consumption of alcohol was approved by a narrow vote on August 13th: 1,871 to 1,679,a mere 192 votes.
