The Rapid City School District preliminary enrollment numbers are close to last year's student count.
Just under 14,000 students roam the halls at schools throughout the district. However, Superintendent Dr. Tim Mitchell says by the time official numbers are released, the student count could increase by 100.
According to Mitchell, these numbers are steady and tracking closely to what was projected.
Last year, enrollment spiked to more than 14,000 students.
Official enrollment numbers will be available Sept. 27.
