Fire crews quickly got a handle on a fire on Rapid City's Cowboy Hill.

The fire started just before 2 p.m. in a rugged area near a TV transmission tower.  Fortunately, there is a road leading to the tower so the terrain presented little problems for fire crews.

While firefighters had to contend with 100 degree heat, Rapid City Fire Department Captain Brent Long said they were able to get a handle on the fire within an hour.

No structures were threatened. At this time, we do not know the cause of the fire.
But Long said a person of interest was taken to the hospital with medical issues.
He would not elaborate.
