While talking to some parents who brought their kids to the Central States Fair, they all agreed that if you are coming for just the day get the unlimited rides wristbands for $30.
"Got to take the kids on all the rides, all the games," said Matt Koscak.
"The kids, they just buy the bracelets, which saves a little bit of money and they can ride the rides all night long," said Greg Brose.
"As much as you got to spend to ride all the rides," said Sabrina Whitford.
All three brought their kids to the fair Friday night.
But having lots of carnival fun in the August heat means you'll have to stay hydrated.
"Lemonade, probably pay a little bit extra for it but I think it's well worth it," said Brose.
"Well water, I guess. I mean it's $4," said Whitford.
Closer to the west entrance you can spend $4 on water. But if you walk to the end of the midway, you'll see bottled water for just $1.
As for lemonade, depending on how thirsty you are, it could cost $14. So you might want to just look for the $1 water.
However there are some unique fair foods that some people say are worth the extra buck or two.
"Knights of Columbus seems to have some pretty decent deals with some pretty decent food. But it's kind of hard to overpay for a deep fried Snickers and deep fried Oreos. That's just worth the money," said Koscak.
Funnel cakes. Yeah, definitely a funnel cake. I'll save some extra money for a funnel cake. You can't beat a funnel cake at the fair," said Brose.
