After 111 seasons and 881 games played on natural grass, athletes who play at Lyle Hare Stadium in Spearfish, will now feel synthetic grass field turf under their feet.
The new field will cost a little more than $1 million and was installed by Geo–Surfaces.
The turf is designed to be a more stable and durable.
This is only phase one of two that are designed to enhance the features of the stadium.
The new field will be used for the first time on September 21st when Black Hills State takes on Colorado School of Mines.
