It seems the black hills is a top destination for young American's.
The State of the American Traveler reports 30 percent of leisure travelers plan to travel more over the next 12 months, and 31 percent of American's expect to increase their spending.
Rapid City and the Mount Rushmore area is among a top 10 travel destination in the U.S. for people between the ages of 18 and 35.
That generations, the Millennial's, expected budget for a one week vacation excluding airfare is fewer than $3,000.
Marketing Director Stacie Granum says reaching this age group using social media is a good way to attract them to the Black Hills.
"They are using whether it's a mobile device like an ipad or phone," said Granum. "They're always connected in some way to that technology."
According to the report, improvements in travel finances and moderate gas prices continue to drive these positive results.
