Can you believe it's already that time to send the kids back to school? It seems to sneak up on us, and our checkbooks every year after the rally.
According to Terry Mills with Consumer Credit Counseling in Rapid City, the average family spends more than $300 dollars on back to school supplies.
And that can be quite a big expense, especially if you don't set money aside ahead of time.
But, Mills says there are several ways, to ease the pressure on your wallet when buying your children those back to school essentials.
"Check with used clothes stores, pool with other parents. Call up other parents, maybe buy in bulk, share the expenses with clothes and school supplies, and those things that you have to do," says Mills.
Mills suggests budgeting for next year as soon as you are done shopping for this years supplies.
He says even $25 dollars a month aside will make all the difference.
