A decision whether to build a new arena at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center could come later rather than sooner.
The citizen committee studying the arena for the last six months will likely recommend that more study go into the decision. The group's primary focus has been to review the shape of the Don Barnett arena.
It would cost an estimated $38 million to address the ADA violations. And, an addition $32 million for other upgrades.
Based on the huge capital investment required, committee member Ben Snow says the idea to build requires further exploration.
The citizen committee is expected to present their recommendation to the Civic Center Board of Directors on August 13th.
