Referendum date set for legalizing alcohol on Pine Ridge


The Oglala Sioux Tribe Election Commission announced Friday that a referendum vote on the issue of legalizing alcohol on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation pursuant to Oglala Sioux Tribal Council Ordinance No. 13-22 will be held on Tuesday, August 13th.

Polls will open reservation wide in each district from 9:00am (MST) until 7:00 pm (MST) on the
date of the special election. Precincts will be at each District Service Center (CAP Office).


Voters will find educational information on the proposed Oglala Sioux Tribe Alcoholic Beverage Code, which is for public viewing, along with the Oglala Sioux Tribe Election Code on the official website of the 2013 Oglala Sioux Tribe Referendum Vote at
