Trial date set in Pennington County animal abuse case

A trial date is set for two caretakers accused of abusing 69 horses in their care.

Donald and Terry Harwood are charged with 10 counts of inhumane treatment of an animal.

They face 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine if convicted.

The Pennington County Sheriff's Office impounded almost 70 horses from their property on Radar Hill Road on January 7th, after allegations of neglect.

The Harwoods are currently out on bond. The trial is set to begin on August 15th.
