Pancakes, clothes, and school supplies were given away Saturday as part of A Day in the Park.
Alongside Hills Alive, A Day in the Park ran from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., as a way to help families and people in need.
Bryan Rice, the event organizer, says by 11 a.m. they had between 1,000 to 1,500 people.
Saturday morning, the nearly 200 volunteers served a hot pancake breakfast.
People in need of clothing could search through piles of donated clothes, after they had touched based with three of six organizations attending the event, such as Habitat for Humanity or Love Inc.
Rice says the turnout was incredible. "Unfortunately we did run out of shoes, but we gave 250 pair of shoes to kids across Rapid City.
In addition to the nearly 200 volunteers, 'A Day in the Park' was put on by 26 churches.
