The highway patrol says a Rapid city man apparently made a U-turn on I-90 and crashed into a pickup head-on early Friday afternoon.  The collision sent the pickup into the ditch where it rolled.

22 year old Drew Lanciano was arrested for vehicular battery and suspicion of DUI.  Both Lanciano, and the driver of the truck, 34 year old Jeremy Houchens of Rapid City were seriously injured in the crash.  Lanciano had to be extricated from his car.

The two-car accident brought traffic to a standstill while police investigated and the debris was cleared from the highway.  Eastbound I-90 at Deadwood Avenue was closed to prevent any more cars from entering the highway.

A second minor wreck with two vehicles was also reported in the area.

This was the second accident to close I-90 in Rapid City this week.  An accident near Exit 61 snarled traffic on Monday.
