Polluted water in one KOTA Territory creek has led county commissioners to look into fixing a serious problem
Tuesday the Pennington County Commission voted to authorize a project on a section of Spring Creek that would mitigate stream bank erosion and also involve the stabilization of the stream bank. This comes after the deadly E.Coli Virus as well as other pollution was found in the water in one section of the creek.
County Commission Chairman, Lyndell Petersen, says the new project will be beneficial in preserving the creek.
"All these things contribute to not only the preservation of the streambed but also mitigating wildlife issues and things of that kind,"said Petersen.
Petersen went on to say there are many similar projects like this one being used in Rapid Creek here in Rapid City.
