A KOTA Territory senior center brings back a summer fundraiser to fund a bulk of its services to local seniors.
Operation Independence is underway for the Sheridan Senior Center, as it is every year around the Fourth of July. Managers hope to raise more than $20,000.
Donations make up around 18 percent of the budget each year for the facility. The senior center's executive director says these donations contribute to several services.
"Things like our meals program, our home delivered meals program, our adult daycare, our in-home services program, and our transportation program," said executive director Carmen Rideout.
The campaign runs through the end of summer and you can donate by stopping by the senior center or visiting www.sheridanseniorcenter.org.
