A rainy morning in Rapid City didn't turn away classic car enthusiasts and although there was scattered showers, the thunder these enthusiasts were hearing wasn't coming from the sky.
Hundreds of cars with all shapes, colors, and models revved their engines, honked their horns, and flashed their lights for the enjoyment of spectators at this years Cruiser Car Show and Street Fair.
Formerly knows as cruiser night, this year's free event took place downtown from 10 am to 4 PM in its third year of a new event format. Food, games, and live performances were all on tap as event spectators walked around and took in the sights.
Car owners and enthusiast alike all seemed to be having a good time.
"I used to come over here , you know we used to have to cruise all over town and then they moved it down here which is nice too, it's a terrific car show,"said car owner Dick Schmidt.
"Some are done up real nice, a lot of money put into them and others are more on a budget, daily drivers. It's neat to see all the different types.," said car enthusiast, Dugan Dennis
The event was sponsored by The Rapid City Police Department and Destination Rapid City.
