Strider Bike races in Main Street Square

Kids up to five rode what looked like normal bikes Saturday, but they didn't have one thing...pedals.

The Strider Bike lets kids move across the pavement without pedaling. Kids raced each other through the Main Street Square obstacle course, which had bumps and water fountains.

The founder of Strider Bikes, Ryan McFarland, says for a $15 participation fee, kids get a jersey, a medal, and a toy bike. He also says the race shows off what kids can do when they don't have to pedal.

The 2-year-olds raced at 10 a.m., 3-year-olds at 11 a.m., 4-year-olds at 1 p.m., and 5-year-olds at 2 p.m.
