Mobile banking is convenient, if used safely

Banking is receiving an upgrade. The use of cell phones for online banking is increasing as more banks provide users with access to online banking apps.

Consumer Credit Counseling's Terry Mills say it's important to know the pros and cons of mobile banking to ensure accounts stay secure.

While 24/7 access to an account is convenient, hacking could be an issue if a phone gets lost or stolen. The CCC advises to use a strong password, change it often and don't use that password for any other account.

Mills also suggests people bank locally, because they're more likely to get better help when it comes to online banking. anticipates that about 45 million Americans will use online banking by 2014.
