Revising process of putting art and plaques in Rapid City parks

Posted:

There now might be an easier process to put art and memorial plaques in parks in Rapid City.     More people have requested to place art installations and items in remembrance of loved ones in city parks.

Officials from the Parks and Recreation Department decided to revise the policy in a more formal way. It outlines the process for going about putting items in parks.

"We had been getting an increased number of requests for placement of items and pieces of art in our parks. And we felt that it was time to address both of those issues," said Jeff Biegler, Director of the Parks and Recreation Department in Rapid City.

The two policies have to be approved by city council and it will be presented to them on Monday, July 15.
