Traffic restricted Tuesday due to Highway 16 project

Posted:

The final lift of asphalt surfacing between Neck Yoke Road and the Keystone Wye is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 9.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane in the direction of the paving during periods of work, and a 16-foot width restriction will be in effect. The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph during working hours at locations of active work. Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled in work zones and to watch for slow moving and turning construction vehicles.

Paving operations are scheduled for completion by late July. Painting of the road surface will be completed prior to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. A Sturgis Motorcycle Rally restriction is in effect for the project from July 27 through August 11. No work will be performed that impedes traffic during the rally period.

Bituminous Paving, Inc. of Ortonville, Minn., is the contractor.
