Summer Nights / Main Street Square could draw crowd of 15,000

4th of July celebrations are happening throughout KOTA Territory, but one event is expected be  more than 1/5 the size of Rapid City itself.
The Summer Nights and the Main Street Square Independence Day celebration is expected to draw more than 15,000 people.

As part of the day's festivities, The Fallen Heroes Banners were on display from 2 PM until 6 PM.

The memorial banners honor South Dakota military members who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the recent wars.

In addition, there are concerts, kids activities, and much much more.
"We will even air the recording of the last time the fireworks were sent off at Mount Rushmore. So they can see that right as the sun goes down," says Megan Karbowski, Executive Director of the square.
