Posted:

Gillette city officials want residents to know city offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4th in observance of the Independence Day holiday.  According to a press release, the Solid Waste Division will not pick up trash, recycling or yard waste that day, but will run a double route on Friday, July 5th and pick up Thursday and Friday's trash, recycling and yard waste that day.
Fireworks are not permitted in City Limits, but there are other activities planned for the July 4th holiday.
From 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. there is a volunteer firemen pancake feed at 106 Rohan Avenue.  At 7 a.m. the Universal Athletics Firecracker 4 mile run/walk begins at Bicentennial Soccer Fields.  The parade begins at 10 a.m. and noon activities in Bicentennial Park start including a free hot dog feed, kids games, Chalk It Up, Mud Volleyball, Firemen Water Fights Begin, and the Fitness Challenge.  Registration for those activities is at 9 a.m.  At 10 p.m. the fireworks display at Cam-Plex will start.
