Property owners continue to fight Pennington County over higher tax rates

Agricultural property owners who are angry at the Pennington County Commission members for taking away tax breaks - let their voices be heard Tuesday morning.

Their decision to require 160 acres of land instead of 40 to qualify for an ag land classification is unpopular among many landowners.

In fact, some say they'll have to sell their land if the decision isn't reversed.

Landowner, Ted Crisman, is hoping that if enough people speak out something may change.

"The more people that come out and state their case here the more influence we can have on a decision the commissioners will make," said Crisman.

County commissioners did say open forums on the issue will continue but at this time it will not be put on the agenda.
