It's National Mud Day, and that means both kids and grown ups alike had a chance to get down and dirty.
Saturday marked the second annual Mud Day at the Outdoor Campus West in Rapid City.
The event was to encourage kids and their parents, to get in touch with one of the building blocks of nature: dirt.
There was the mud-lympics obstacle course, tug of war, mud kitchen, and various other muddy activities.
Event organizers, as well as partcipants say there is no better way to have fun, than to get down and dirty.
"We're having a lot of fun the kids are out with their parents making mud castles and mud pies and having a great time," said Evan Griggs, a Naturalist Intern.
