Arabian horses provide fun learning opportunity for kids

Kids in KOTA Territory are getting the chance to get up close and learn about one of the oldest breeds of horses.

The Arabian Horse Association is holding the Total Arabian Interactive Learning Program (TAIL) this weekend.

Kids can sign up for a tour where they get to watch a horse show, interact with horses and even help to groom them.

Program Youth Coordinator Joan Rozeboom has owned Arabian horses since she was 15, and she says she's excited to teach kids about them, like 7-year-old Elena.

She can't wait for her favorite thing about horses…the horse show itself.

"The guys riding the horses, you know, watching people riding the horses," says Elena.

"As far as doing it with the kids, when I was little I would have loved to do something like this," adds Rozeboom. "So I'm very excited to be able to have kids who don't maybe have horses but would love to have one, can come and see one and touch one."

Tours will continue until Sunday afternoon.
