Fierce wildfires in Colorado continue to devastate the dry and beetle infested forests.
The Rocky Mountain State has asked for help, and so far more than 300 firefighters from South Dakota have aided in the fight.
Tuesday, after 14 days, 20 crew members from the Bear Mountain Hands Crew and Black Hats of the South Dakota Wildland Fire returned home to unpack.
Attitudes of several of the firefighters regarding the destruction in Colorado were positive.
Line firefighter Adam Fritz says although there's still a lot of work to do, he's happy with everything they accomplished.
"We took care of whatever assignments were given to us and made sure that we did them to best of their abilities," said Fritz. "And left each fire knowing that we had done everything we could with that situation."
The bear Mountain Hand crew and Black Hats group helped fight four separate fires in Colorado, and they are prepared to go back.
