Iconic restaurant has new owner with high hopes

An iconic Black Hills restaurant is making a return.

Hisega's Fireside Inn has reopened with new management.

It has a rich 40-year history, but it has been closed several times. Owner Ashley Ginesberg bought the restaurant seven months ago, and she says she hopes to bring back the prestige of the restaurant while creating new traditions.

With a background as a French pastry chef, she plans to add new menu items while incorporating old favorites, like the prime rib.

"Hopefully everybody sees that, you know, it's back to what it used to be," she says. "It's a nice restaurant and it means a lot to us to have this... To be able to do this."

The Fireside Inn was closed for a year before Ginesberg bought it in December.
