Fireworks show approved at Black Hills Speedway

Posted:

Fireworks will once again make an appearance at the Black Hills Speedway this July.

The Pennington County Commissioners approved the show for July 5th after the race.

Last summer, Commissioners banned open burning and discharge of fireworks because of the drought and extreme fire danger.

But according to Attorney Jay Alderman, County Commissioners do not have the authority to ban fireworks on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

This will be the first July fireworks show at the Speedway since 2011.
