New sidewalk plan put on hold - KOTA Territory News

Rapid City's new sidewalk plan put on hold

Plans to construct new sidewalks on a stretch of East Omaha Street have been put on hold.

Last night the Rapid City Council decided against starting the roughly $345,000 project that would pave the dirt walkway along Highway 44 from Lacrosse Street to Western Dakota Tech. Instead, the Council agreed to pursue grant funding options.

Councilman Ron Sasso was confident the city would receive the proper funding, but says if no grants are awarded; the city strongly needs to find a way to install the sidewalks in the near future.
