Gov. Dennis Daugaard takes flight with military

Posted:

South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard got a tour with a view Saturday morning.

Taking off in a helicopter from West Camp Rapid, Daugaard spent the day with the National Guard, checking out the different camps where the army is stationed. He also watched the men and women participating in Golden Coyote training.

Daugaard says he is proud of the level of participation, with men and women coming from different states and other countries. These countries include the U. K., Denmark, Canada, Kosovo, and Germany. "This gives me a chance on a Saturday when I don't have to be in the capital, it gives me a chance to see some of the exercises that our troops are undergoing as part of their training," said Daugaard.

Golden Coyote training goes until June 22.
