Two Rapid City companies have merged together under one name.
Asurion cut the ribbon this morning marking the start of name change. N.E.W Customer Service and Asurion came together in 2008, but have worked separately, until now.
The name change was made for global purposes because Asurion is currently number one in the field for mobile devices and supply insurance.
Asurion works directly with Target, Verizon Wireless, Amazon, Direct TV, and many others, providing customer service and warranties on electronics.
Following the merger and name change, Asurion will hire 21 new classes with 12 to 16 employees in each class. Asurion currently has 390 employees in Rapid City, but has room for 500, and is looking to hire.
