The renovation of a Rapid City golf course is complete. The occasion was marked with a ceremonial first drive at Y.M.C.A LaCroix Links golf course.
The Wadsworth Foundation (a private foundation out of Chicago), gave a matching grant in support of the project which started last summer.
The renovations included, renovations of the irrigation system, upgrades to the course drainage system, repairs on all the tee boxes, the conversion of one hole to a par four and the modification of another hole to reduce errant balls out of the course.
Y.M.C.A Sports Director, Randy Stanton, says the upgrades are in an effort to draw more visitors to the course. The project renovations cost around 400,000 dollars and half was funded by the grant.
