Mount Rushmore Mascots Traveling to Denver to entice visitors to Rapid City

The Rapid City Convention and Visitors Bureaus' Presidential mascots of Mount Rushmore National Memorial are headed to Denver Colorado, this Friday.  George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln will be throwing the first pitch for the Colorado Rockies at 2 p.m. on Saturday. They will be giving away Rapid City and Black Hills vacations. On Sunday the mascots will be visiting zoo goers at the Denver Zoo from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The official visit by the Mount Rushmore mascots is part of an ongoing cross-country trek. This will be the Mount Rushmore mascot's second trip to Denver. They've also been all over the United States including New York City for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Minneapolis, MN for a Twins baseball game and many other states such as Florida, North Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

"We're excited to meet people in Denver and share Mount Rushmore and Rapid City, SD with them. The mascots have turned out to be a wonderful marketing tool to help create excitement about Rapid City as a great family vacation destination," says Stacie Granum, Marketing Director of the Rapid City Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The Rapid City Convention and Visitors Bureau is a division of the Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce. The CVB's mission is to market the Rapid City area as a convention and leisure destination and to promote economic growth that will enhance the area for visitors and residents.
