Imagine paying for products with your finger.
Nexus Smart Pay is a new technology that trades cards and cash for finger prints. This technology debuted Thursday at Rapid City's Summer Nights.
The president of Nexus says all people have to do is go online, registers with Nexus, and bring their generated number to a Nexus booth at Summer Nights. Participants decide how much money they want registered to their account and they stick their finger in a Nexus machine to pay for things like beer. "It's going to go worldwide here at soon as it catches on and we're just lucky to have it here in Rapid City," said Alan Maas, the president of Nexus. "It's the first place in the world to adapt it."
Maas went on to say that Nexus Smart Pay has the highest form of security. "No more identity theft," said Maas. "No more stealing of your identity because everybody's unique with their finger."
Nexus says Firehouse Brewing Company and The Wobbly Bobby are set up with the finger identification technology.
