Extremely strong winds are blowing through KOTA Territory.
Southeast winds of 30 mph to 40 mph with gusts to around 50 mph were common Thursday morning at the Sheridan Airport and at Aberdeen Hill along Interstate 90.
The howling wind kept flags upright and nearly blew away some signs. The wind was so strong that some businesses didn't bother with putting flags up on their flag poles.
The heaviest winds are now in Northeast Wyoming. Travelers along I-90 are cautioned to be prepared for dangerous cross winds.
