Councilman defended at city council meeting

With the recall petition deadline approaching, many people have been speaking out against Councilman Bill Clayton

At this week's city council meeting, a few people of Rapid City took the opportunity to defend Councilman Clayton.

Ian Roberson, a friend of Clayton's, spoke out defending the councilman saying the statements contained no racist content.

"Bill Clayton has always been a trusted friend and mentor to me. My recent promotion was due in least at part to his unceasing encouragement and support. I have always trusted him for no nonsense advice. He has always been a great sounding board and intent listener."Said Roberson.

The petition deadline is set for May 31st.
