Does the Republican Party need to change? After losing the popular vote in five of the past six White House elections, many GOP leaders have raised the question.
Saturday night at the Lincoln Day Dinner, which is a fundraiser to help elect Republicans to office, Republican Chairman Reince Preibus, who has been vocal about the party's need for change, said while there are a few bad apples, Republican principles are good and should stay in tact. "You know we want to drape our principles in grace, love and respect, I think everyone agrees with that," Priebus said. "We've had a couple of bad comments made by a couple of bad candidates over the last few months, but that doesn't mean we should change the principles of the party," Priebus continued.
Priebus was the keynote speaker at the Lincoln Day Dinner.
