KOTA Territory business celebrates with trees

One KOTA Territory business is bringing the power of trees to Spearfish.

Black Hills Power partnered with Black Hills State University to commemorate the University's 130th anniversary.

During the ceremony 13 trees were planted behind the baseball fields.

Organizers said the goal of the event was to teach participants about the environment as well as beautify facilities.

"As far as Black Hills Power, it means a lot to us as well as helping the community aesthetically beautify their community with these beautiful trees that they get to choose, and Black Hills Power contributes." Said Mutch Usera, Black Hills Power External Affairs.

Since 2009 Black Hills Power has planted 450 trees throughout the Black Hills.
