KOTA Territory business women were celebrated for their ingenuity and business acumen Thursday afternoon in Spearfish.
The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity or S.D. CEO announced the annual winners of the "Women in Business Awards" over their annual luncheon today.
Keynote speaker Sandy Burns, who created her own business, Project Solutions, believes women need to have the confidence to seek their own opportunities.
"The main thing that I want them to think about is to have the confidence to know that they can do it. And then I want them to think about being fearless and going after those projects that they can do. And I think that's the important thing is just to have that confidence and going for it," said Burns.
Winners were selected from across South Dakota and Dell Rapids native Kari Karst, the owner and president of BX Civil and Construction was the winner of the "Enterprising Business Woman" award.
