The Rapid City and Pennington County Water Rescue Team will be out this week training to get ready for the summer months as well as the dangerous scenarios they may bring.
The team will be training all week from May 13th to the 15th.
Today the team trained in Rapid Creek in Founders Park they Focused in on throw bag training and how to get stranded victims safely across fast moving water.
The rest of the week they will travel to various locations throughout the state.
"I think we lucked out really well. We had some great weather to be able to practice this. We had a great turnout from the water rescue team. Water conditions are pretty decent, pretty good flows going in the middle of the season. It's been a while since we had this much water in Rapid Creek so it's a good time for them to get out and play in it."
The training is to get the rescuers ready for the summer months, when so many tourists travel to the area.
