Air Summit held to address Rapid City Regional Airport

Airport officials look to enhance and expand service at Rapid City Regional Airport by gathering support from local communities and businesses.
Airport Director Cameron Humphres says the focus needs to be placed on in-bound flights, which make up more than 60 percent of air traffic at Rapid City Regional Airport.

At Tuesday's Black Hills Air Summit, Greg Lindsay, an industry expert and author of the book 'Aerotropolis: The Way We'll Live Next' says air service is all about demand.
"I talk to so many people who just sort of write off air travel as this terrible terrible experience and also regard it like it's going to be like water. You just turn on the tap and air travel comes out. It's something you need to grow and something you need to nurture and something you need to invest in. Because it you don't it'll go away," says Lindsay.

Business leaders and government officials also had a chance to voice their concerns and ask questions about Rapid City Regional Airport.
