Many campgrounds around KOTA Territory are dusting off their welcome mats.
Lake Park Campground and Cottages is open year round, but owner Scott Nelson says they just turned on water to their full hook up sites a few days ago.
He says they are seeing campers pull in, but they won't see the true summertime rush for about another ten days or so.
Nelson says once tourism season is in full-swing, all of his 30 campsites and 27 cottages will be nearly full.
"Yeah we've been seeing some traffic come in already for sure, and I'd say we had a pretty good weekend. But come Memorial Day through Labor Day we'll just be as busy as can be," says Nelson.
Many Black Hills campgrounds and resorts report a substantial increase in reservations this year, at some places they're seeing nearly a 20% increase.
